What Causes Jaw Pain?
Temporomandibular Dysfunction (TMD) is a common cause for jaw pain. The temporomandibular joints are the hinges on both sides of your jaw that control jaw movement. Jaw pain can be caused by several different factors, including jaw injury, issues with discs in the jaw, nerve injury, or over stimulation of the jaw joint muscle, parafunctional habit or stress.
Depending on the severity of your jaw pain, you could be experiencing several different symptoms, like stiffness of the jaw, clicking or popping of the jaw, sharp pain when chewing, fatigued muscle or facial pain. Before the symptoms get worse, it’s best to seek professional help for a recommended solution.
