Get Hands-On Experience for Implants
At Metro West Orthodontics & Periodontics, our team is passionate about sharing knowledge and learning the latest and innovative techniques in the dental industry. We offer this Cadaver Implant Hands-On Course so that you can learn everything there is to know about performing dental implants.
This course will provide you with a full understanding of the anatomy surrounding the implant area, including the hard and soft tissues that will support the implant. Practicing this technique on cadavers gives you a truly hands-on experience and will prepare you for working with actual patients.
In this three-day course, you will learn about:
- Anatomical features that surround the dental implant through advanced cone beam technology and cadaver dissection
- Surgical techniques for placing dental implants
- The interactions of medical and dental disciplines in dental implantology
- Patient selection, surgical treatment planning, and long-term dental implant maintenance
- Case management and treatment planning tailored to the physical, psychological and financial needs of the implant patients
- The radiology and head and neck anatomy involved in dental implantology
This course is designed to provide you with the closest, in-depth experience to performing a dental implant on an actual cadaver head. Our instructors are leaders in the dental academic and have acquired multiple degrees and certifications in their field.
The course is led by our prestigious director, Dr. Neil Norton, who has several years of experience with teaching courses to medical and dental students. He has received over 20 teaching awards from Creighton University and was also awarded the GlaxoSmithKline Sensodyne Teaching Award, which is the highest national award given by the American Dental Education Association (ADEA).
Our Co-Director, Dr. Takanari Miyamoto, also has several prestigious qualifications in the dental field. He received his degree from Creighton University School of Dentistry, and obtained his Master’s Degree from Boston University where he furthered his knowledge of Clinical Periodontics & Implantology. Dr. Miyamoto received his Ph.D. from Nihon University and is named as an “Evidence-Based Champion” by the American Dental Association.
