This week’s featured employee is Amanda Reynolds!
Amanda is Metro West’s Education and Outreach Coordinator! She says her favorite part of working at Metro West is the wonderful people. “We all tease each other like siblings, yet work together for one common goal – patient first.” Amanda is a born- and-raised Nebraskan. She grew up in Omaha with her mom, dad, sister and brother. Amanda, her spouse, Robyn, and their two sons live within a few miles of Amanda’s parents. Family is important to Amanda and she enjoys spending time with her tightly knit family. Their family has two dogs, Gabby and Reese, two birds, Tom and Jerry, and a cat, Olive. Amanda says, “I know we have a circus at our house, but at least it’s a fun one!”
In her downtime Amanda enjoys sewing, baking, and making jewelry. Some of her jewelry is sold in a boutique in New Orleans! Amanda has this to say about her favorite color, “My favorite color is glitter. I know it’s not actually a color, but I love anything that sparkles.” Her favorite restaurant is V. Mertz in the passageway of the Old Market. “The Christmas lights and hanging plants have a romantic feel, plus the desserts are to die for!” Although Amanda does not have a role model she sees her children as a source of inspiration. “I’m finally graduating with a college degree in May. I’ve had a hard time completing it. I have been working on it for twelve years, but when I think about my kids watching me walk across the stage to receive my diploma – that makes it all worthwhile.” Amanda’s favorite quote is, “You are allowed to be both a masterpiece and a work in progress at the same time.” Amanda believes we should all strive to become better versions of ourselves, but also realize how far we have come in our individual journeys.
