This week’s featured team member is Dr. Takanari Miyamoto!
Dr. Miyamoto believes, “You should spend 33% of your time with a mentor, 33% of your time with your peers, and 33% of your time mentoring someone else. You cannot be stagnant. You must always strive to grow”. Before his move to Omaha, Dr. Miyamoto spent time in Boston where he met his wife, Dr. Taera Kim. Dr. Miyamoto, his wife, and their daughter, Rie, have a pet dog named Yuki! Dr. Miyamoto has a bustling career, but knows how to have fun too! In his down time he enjoys playing guitar, singing, and having dinner in Omaha’s many fine restaurants.
Dr. Miyamoto is quite the “foodie”. He can never leave home without some salami and cheese. Who can blame him? Dr. Miyamoto’s favorite restaurant is Spencer’s Steakhouse. He highly recommends everyone try the cabernet onions on top of their steak. Dr. Miyamoto is always on the go! He teaches at Creighton University, treats his patients at Metro West Orthodontics and Periodontics, conducts Spear Study Club, and leads Metro West Seminars locally and around the world. Dr. Miyamoto’s role model is Dr. Michael McGuire, a periodontist in Houston, Texas. Dr. Miyamoto believes he is a “great periodontist and a great human being!” “Success is hard to achieve and importantly, it is not about myself. It is about a team. Business is a team sport.” This quote is by Howard Schultz, the CEO of Starbucks, and is one of Dr. Miyamoto’s favorite quotes. Dr. Miyamoto truly believes in the importance of being a team player. “One team; one goal; patient first.”
